Dental Implants

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are small titanium cylinders that are embedded into the bone of the jaw. TheyDental Implant act as a replacement for the tooth’s original root system. Some of the instructors that Dr. Paprocki has trained under literally wrote the book on implants.

Why Are People Choosing Dental Implants?

A national survey of oral and maxillofacial surgeons found that patient interest and demand has grown significantly. The survey found:

  • Dental implant use has nearly tripled since 1986 and is expected to continue to rise rapidly
  • People of all ages are turning to dental implants to replace a single tooth, several teeth or a full set of dentures
  • Leading reasons cited for choosing dental implants are:
    • to restore normal eating and speaking abilities
    • to enhance facial appearance and confidence
    • to increase denture retention

According to the survey, the reasons for the increased demand are:

  • Growing public awareness of the significant functional and esthetic advantages of dental implants over conventional dentures and bridges
  • The availability of data on the long-term success of dental implants

Dr. Paprocki does not surgically place the implants, though he does work very closely with your oral surgeon to make sure you have a comfortable and successful restoration. For more information about dental implants, feel free to browse through our Dental Health Guide and click on Implants in the "Topic Categories" section.

The NEWEST dental implants and placement procedures are so advanced, so successful, so comfortable and so reasonable that it's almost a given that anyone, regardless of how many teeth are missing or how long they've been missing can enjoy a remaining lifetime of "rock solid" teeth. Beautiful teeth. Comfortable teeth. Fully functional teeth. Teeth that don't require adhesives, removal at night, adjustments to fit, or soft foods. They look, feel, and function like the real things.
